At its first-ever Jingle Mingle Holiday Party, the Shawnee Chamber announced Ryan Browning as its Ambassador of the Year and Jean Nelson as its Chamber Star awardees for the year of 2021. These awards honor those who exemplify the spirit of what makes the Chamber a wonderful organization to be a part of. 2021 Chamber Star
The Chamber Star Award was developed to recognize a Chamber volunteer that shines with extraordinary measures of service and commitment to the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce. This award was established in 2007.
Announcing Speech:
"Our second award we’d like to present this evening is The Chamber Star Award. This was developed to recognize a Chamber volunteer that shines with extraordinary measures of service and commitment to the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce.
This person has shown outstanding support and dedication to the Chamber and its Mission. Our recipient has been a long-time member, dedicated to advancing the Chamber and its programs in every way possible.
She is a 2004 graduate of Shawnee Tomorrow Leadership and went on to serve on the Shawnee Tomorrow Advisory and Ambassadors committees. She has helped us plan and execute Annual Dinners, Golf Tournaments, Total Resource Campaigns, and Silent Auctions.
Above all this, she exemplifies Chamber core values, helping us to build future leaders and support local businesses…And we all remember how she would make delicious cookies for the entire golf tournament!

2021 Ambassador of the Year
The Ambassador of the Year Award is given for active participation in many aspects of the Chamber, including committee participation and leadership; event and community support; and overall “Ambassador” for the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce

"We have two special awards to recognize this afternoon. The first award is the Ambassador of the Year.
This year’s recipient dives in headfirst with any opportunities the Chamber throws his way. He helped shuttle our players for 8 hours during our golf tournament. He has helped create fantastic first impressions with new businesses while emceeing Ribbon Cuttings.
He brought in new sponsorships during the Chamber’s TRC campaign. With an always positive and welcoming demeanor, he currently serves as Vice Chair for the Ambassadors Committee.
For his service and commitment to the Chamber we would like to recognize this year’s recipient. Ryan Browning, Kansas Gas Service as this year’s Ambassador of the Year."
